It Has Come…

It Has Come…
by Knut

It has come, this magic time of year
When we commemorate the Lamb. Listen! Hear!
Set in a manger is a birth of Joy
That ignorance, evil and hate does destroy.

How lucky are we, to have been so blessed
To receive the wondrously sweetly expressed
Teachings of the Son who showed us so well
The way out of death, out of coldness and hell.

The Christ did not say “blessed are the meek and merciful” in vain,
Nor is “blessed are the peacemakers” an unrealistic, utopian strain –
“For these,” saith the Lord, “shall the Earth and Mercy obtain,
And be called the children of God.” And thereby regain
The fill of righteousness, and leave behind all wordly fame.

It has come, this magic time of year
When we should celebrate and feel without hint of fear,
The beautiful gladness of a Rabbi is near,
Right now, we only need to ask, it’s here.

Away with doubt and speculative stalemates today
And all undisciplined Zen –
Thank the Almighty, who says “watch and pray”
So be it, thank you Lord, Amen.
