IN LOVE WITH A FAIRYTALE

Sky suddenly awakes. Looking over at her clock, “Four o’clock?! Oh crap! Derek… Derek, wake up, you’ve got to go!”
“Huh?” Through squinted eyes, “What? Why?”
“It’s four o’clock, we must’ve fallen asleep! My mom must’ve forgot you were here.. She doesn’t even know you’re still here!”
“So? I’ll just stay ’til she leaves for work.”
“No, Derek, you have to go. You shouldn’t be here.”
“What? Why? …”
“Derek, I’m not asking anymore, it’s time for you to go home.”
“Whatever! Fine! I know you don’t love me anymore!”
“What the hell? I just want you to go home, it’s not right for you to just stay here and hide like that.”
Derek pauses a moment, searching for something, anything to hold onto during such inner turbulence and confusion… “I know what it is, I know exactly what it is! It’s that stupid movie you watched with what’s-her-face..”
“What?! What is WRONG with you?! It was just a movie!”
“Yeah, one with that guy you two think is sooo hot! I SEE HOW IT IS!”
“Dude, seriously… go home.”
Sky opens the window and shoves Derek out. He screams as he is exiting, “WHATEVER, FINE!”
Sky whispers her screams, “Stop screaming! You’re going to wake my mom up!”
“I don’t care!” Derek whines. “I just don’t care anymore!” Derek reaches back inside Sky’s bedroom and grabs her boombox. He sets it down in the middle of the yard outside her window and presses play1:
Play“Derek! SSSSHHHHHHHH! You’re going to wake the neighbors up too! Turn that off!”
“NO! Why don’t YOU ‘SSSHHHH’, and just go be with that stupid movie star, since that’s what you really want!”
“UGH!” Sky shuts the window.
Derek dances in the yard outside of Sky’s window, and sings in no particular direction:
