And so it was, De needed to give himself to lady Earth, as flesh and blood, to combat the six who turned.  He knew it the instant he had left.  His plan was exact, and his move was swift.

Nine months later, a baby boy was born to De and Crisis, and they named him ‘Derek’.  Half-man and half-god, Derek would aid the humans in their development, increasing Will in all that he and his offspring touched.

As agreed, Crisis never imparted to him his true nature.  Living as a man, dying as a man, human ties ever bringing him back, god ties ever sending him upward toward the world of Will, so was his cycle, life after life.  And fate would bring him his name again and again and again…  Derek…  And he would become a mortal enemy of the six who turned.  His lives were often common, sometimes not so common.  Sometimes he figured out who he was, sometimes he didn’t.  Sometimes he tore the world apart looking for that thing he could not quite put his finger on and in his struggles with the six who turned, but somehow he always found a way of piecing it all back together.  Whether he knew it directly or not, each life he and his offspring were forming the base of the pyramid of human Will throughout humanity’s quest, and so is his destiny and the destiny of his offspring from every life, freeing man’s mind, generation after generation, epoch upon epoch, until the day his father spoke of to the gods, the day that “she will be happy in the end.”
