NEW LIFE

3,000,000,000 Years Ago

De was growing lonelier by the eon.  But now the earth, his planetary consort, was finally suitable to begin the processes of life.  It had already been 1,500,000,000 years, but to him it felt as the blink of an eye and an eternity all at once.

De’s Will reached out, touching the earth with rays of hope, enveloping her in a warmth somehow different than before.  Her heart was beating this time, receiving him, ready for his love.  To us it might be like being handed a glass of water after walking through the desert alone our whole life, not knowing before that we were thirsty for we didn’t know what that meant until now.

De understood that this was a long process being initiated, an eternal relationship that would not waver, a bond that demanded his patience, for although he was outside of time, she was in it.

So to aid lady Earth, De created from himself twelve beings, three for every corner of the globe, to govern all things therein from the world of Will, and he called them “gods”.  Existing in the world of Will, with him, in his image, the gods were to rule all things on earth and maintain equilibrium through the various powers he bestowed upon them, some unique, some shared.
