OUR PLAN IS WORKING

Present Day

Two dark figures emerge from the shadows about fifty yards from Derek and Sky.

“Absolutely ridiculous… how she can still love that cretin is beyond me…”  The dark figure unsheathes the dagger at his waste.

The other figure, taking him by the arm, “Cupid…  You know your powers are no match for his when they’re this close…  His will still protects her, whether he realizes it yet this time or not.”

“Yes… unfortunately this is the case.”

“Don’t worry.  Our plan is working, but it will take a little more time.  By the way, how is Jonathan?”

“Oh, he’s just fine…”  Short, as always when it came to his work…  He hated to talk about his work.  Changing the subject, “Well, they’re fast asleep.  Looks like it’s your time to shine, Jax.”

Before Cupid had finished his sentence, Jax had already disappeared into the night.

Cupid – an arrow to bind, a dagger to separate.  Jax – dreamweaver, philosopher.

The night passes quietly and uninterrupted for Derek and Sky.
